Jeannine Baart, M.A. won the New York State Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching for 2016.


Ernie Collabolletta, Psy.D. was awarded the NYS Gil Trachtman Award for Leadership in School Psychology.


Caren Baruch-Feldman, Ph.D. had two speaking engagements. At the Learning and the Brain Conference held in Boston, MA on November 17, Teaching Teenage Brains: Fostering Reasoning, Critical Thinking and Grit explored how teens can change their mindset and behavior in ways that support self-control, grit, and tenacity. At the NYS School Counselor Annual Association Meeting held in Tarrytown, NY on November 18, Developing Grit, Self-Control, and a Growth Mindset in Children and Teens, covered the growing body of research that finds that grit, self-control, and a growth mindset have a strong influence on achievement and well-being. Both talks shared strategies discussed in her upcoming workbook, “The Grit Guide for Teens: A Workbook to Help You Build Perseverance, Self-Control, and a Growth Mindset.”

Photographic exhibit of songbirds with birdsong installation in Rockefeller State Park Preserve’s Gallery reveals the diversity and beauty of native birds of the Preserve and features nine photographers who shadow them. Tara Deliberto, Ph.D. gave a Grand Rounds Talk entitled: Identifying and Treating Eating Disorders with Novel Approaches at Queens Hospital Center on November 18. She also discussed the new Eating Disorders Partial Hospitalization Program, which she directs. This structured behavioral program for adults at New York- Presbyterian Hospital has staff from the disciplines of psychology, medicine, psychiatry, nursing, social work, and nutrition serves to foster both psychological and physical recovery for adult patients with eating disorders.

Barbara Kapetanakes, Psy.D. passed the PEP (Prescribing Exam for Psychologists) on October 15th. In addition to a Psy.D. from Pace University and a post-doc from Fielding Institute in neuropsychology; Barbara has a Master’s in psychopharmacology from Fairleigh Dickenson University.

Jacqueline Plumez, Ph.D. received the 2015 Service to Humanity Award from Bucknell University for her writing and work with international women's empowerment.

Peter J. Taylor, Ph.D., SEP, CGP, FAGPA and Roger Saint-Laurent have developed a model of SE-Informed Group Psychotherapy, which they teach through ongoing training groups for fellow professionals and at conferences and symposia both nationally and internationally. They were keynote speakers at the annual conference of the Northeastern Society for Group Psychotherapy in Boston and at the biennial international SE Symposium in São Paulo, Brazil.

Adam Weissman, Ph.D. was elected to the Executive Board of the New York City Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Association (NYC-CBT) as Representative-at-Large. He is also President-Elect of the Child & Adolescent Anxiety Special Interest Group Association for Behavioral & Cognitive Therapies (ABCT).

James K. Zimmerman, Ph.D. in addition to his practice as a psychologist, is a widely-published, award-winning poet. He has published two books of poetry in the past year.
